2009 Turkey Trotters Set Records

Turkey Trot organizers report 348 registered participants from fourteen states and Canada attended this year’s annual Thanksgiving Day romp through downtown Henderson streets. Organizers estimate the Trot’s actual attendance near 375 to include those non-registered.

Trotters contributed a record $8,822 in gross receipts. The Trot’s expenses this year are estimated near $4,800, providing an estimated $4,022 for Presbyterian Church local mission assistance in 2010.

“The Trotters came out in force to trek one of the finest 5K courses in the country and help folks in need. They set records again this year for attendance and donations. It is now official, Trotters have declared Henderson’s streets as Gobbler Way on Thanksgiving Day. This race has become a family and community tradition for all ages and abilities and we are grateful for their patronage,”  stated volunteer, Darrell Lovell.
